Our client is a proudly Australian, privately owned leader in prepaid card and payment solutions, known for innovation and agility since ****.
With a national footprint, a growing team of 55, they partner with some of Australia's most recognised corporate, NFP, and charitable organisations.
This is a senior, hands-on Solution Architect role, reporting directly to the CTO.
You will own the end-to-end solution architecture across applications, data, integrations, and platforms, working closely with Product, IT, Compliance, and Business stakeholders.
The role suits an experienced Solution Architect or a Senior Developer / Tech Lead ready to step into broader architectural ownership.
There are no line management responsibilities at this stage.
This role is about technical leadership, influence, and delivery-ready architecture.
What you'll do
Take ownership of end-to-end solution architecture for new products, features, CVPs, and compliance initiatives.
Translate business strategy into scalable, secure, and compliant technical solutions.
Produce key architectural artefacts, including HLDs, integration designs, data flows, and API specifications.
Provide hands-on technical leadership, partnering with engineers to guide implementation.
Lead architectural reviews, walkthroughs, and cross-functional alignment sessions.
Contribute to prioritisation, sequencing, grooming, and sprint readiness to support GTM timelines.
Ensure architectural completeness, quality, and readiness before development and release.
Provide oversight across functional, non-functional, security, and compliance requirements.
Ensure solutions align with regulatory frameworks, including PCI DSS, AUSTRAC AML/CTF, APP, and Essential Eight.
Identify architectural risks early and guide mitigation, escalating to the CTO when required.
What we're looking for
Experience designing and delivering complex systems end to end as a Solution Architect or Senior Technical Lead.
Strong hands-on development background with solid understanding of code, data, and system interactions.
Proven experience with APIs, integrations, data modelling, and modern cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
Strong Agile delivery experience, including story sequencing, sprint readiness, and dependency planning.
Fintech, payments, or regulated digital platform experience is highly regarded.
Background as a Senior Developer or Tech Lead preferred.
Strong communication skills, able to clearly explain technical concepts and influence stakeholders.
