We are a busy seafood restaurant located in the heart of Bunbury, Western Australia, and are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of seafood preparation and service.
Qualifications & Experience
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
* Minimum 1-2 year of experience in a busy commercial kitchen
* Experience working in a seafood restaurant or high-volume venue will be highly regarded
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, cook, and present seafood and other menu items to a high standard
* Monitor quality of dishes throughout preparation and service
* Plan menus in consultation with Chefs and Restaurant Managers
* Create and promote daily and seasonal specials
* Estimate food and labour costs and manage kitchen efficiency
* Maintain accurate records of stock levels and financial transactions
* Plan and organise special functions and events
* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
* Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, functional, and well maintained
* Manage food and beverage service within the restaurant
* Prepare weekly rosters for kitchen staff
* Select, train, and supervise kitchen staff as required
* Demonstrate cooking techniques and guide junior staff
* Conduct regular team meetings and encourage staff feedback
* Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
* Handle customer feedback, complaints, and service issues professionally
* Maintain a strong focus on delivering excellent customer experiences
