The Commonwealth Games - an international, multi-sport event involving athletes from the 72 member nations of the Commonwealth - is coming to Victoria in 2026.
Millions worldwide will watch the thriving regional centres of Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat, Gippsland and Shepparton host a jam-packed schedule of 20 sports, nine para sports, the Games ceremonies and festival program that together will showcase the best of Regional Victoria.
The Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (Victoria 2026) will deliver the Games. Together with the State of Victoria, the Commonwealth Games Federation and Commonwealth Games Australia, it is tasked with organising a world-class event for athletes, spectators, locals and the Commonwealth of Nations.
**The role**:
The Payroll Manager is accountable for the accurate processing, effective management and administration of payroll and provision of pay related services for Victoria 2026. This role is responsible for contract managing our outsourced provider and ensuring the reporting and other pay related requirements are meeting expectations and legislative obligations.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Submission, reconciliation and approval of fortnightly Victoria 2026 payroll.
- Submitting completed calculations to outsourced provider for pay increases, special payments, adjustments, and termination payments.
- Reviewing existing process, recommend and drive improvements to payroll.
- Implement and contract manage a Salary Packaging provider.
- Liaise with the finance team regarding reconciliations, journal entries and payments.
- Assist the finance team with forecast and budget reporting related to payroll.
**Key Selection Requirements**:
- Solid understanding of statutory legislation requirements (Super/Payroll Tax and salary packaging).
- Specialist knowledge of payroll tax & superannuation legislation and its impact on payments for employees.
- Previous experience working with an outsourced provider would be highly regarded.
- Business degree or equivalent (highly regarded but not essential).
- Meticulous with an expert eye for detail.
