The Queensland Nurses and Midwives’ Union (QNMU) is the industrial and professional organisation for nurses and midwives working in public and private health and aged care in Queensland. The QNMU seeks to promote and defend the industrial, professional, social, political and democratic interests of over 79,000 members. We have over 200 employees including organisers, professionals and administrative personnel, and manage a multi-million-dollar operating budget.
About the Role
In this role you will have the opportunity to use your exceptional administrative skills and passion for people to make a real difference in the lives of nurses and midwives!
You will be an experienced administrative professional providing quality administrative and secretarial support to the Education and Events Team. This role is based in our Brisbane (West End) office with hybrid working options available.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
* Providing quality administration, customer service and general support to QNMU staff and members;
* Performing accurate word processing and data entry;
* Maintaining accurate files through the records management system;
* Taking minutes of meetings;
* Contributing to the team planning and professional activities of the team;
* Logistical support for the delivery of member training including travel arrangements, venue hire and catering
About You
Working as part of a busy team, you will possess a professional demeanour with a strong work ethic and the demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines. Consistently displaying a collaborative and team-focused approach to your work, you will have the ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality at all times.
To be successful in this role you will possess:
* Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office Suite;
* Highly organised and able to prioritise tasks while supporting the administration requirements of multiple staff members;
* Demonstrated experience in taking minutes;
* Demonstrated commitment to QNMU’s values, purpose and trade unionism in general;
* A mature, personable and professional customer service approach to work;
* Well-developed written and verbal communication skills;
