About Us: Mitchell's Livestock Transport operate 30+ Prime movers, 150 trailers with ancillary vehicles and some agricultural equipment. We have an 800m2 workshop that has a 27.5m drive through service pit and a solid administrative process via a high quality integrated fleet management software program. The company is over 80 years old and is in its third generation ownership of Mitchell Family. It is operated by John Mitchell and we are fortunate to have committed and loyal people working in the business.
About You: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced truck mechanic that has a desire to become a key player in our fleet maintenance team. The position will be attractive to a self‑leader who takes pride in producing high quality work and sets high standards for others to follow. Applicants must have a minimum of 3‑5 years of truck mechanic experience. Australian work rights are required for this position. A trade certificate is required for this role.
The successful applicant will:
* Display sound product knowledge and a willingness for hard work.
* Be able to display leadership and look for ways to continually improve our workshop, its output and its environment.
* Have record‑keeping habits and adherence to company processes and structures is a key requirement.
* Have sound skills and experience that include Kenworth and Volvo Trucks, our trailers and dollies run BPW axles and mostly BPW air suspensions.
* Demonstrate extensive experience with Kenworth and Volvo truck systems and maintenance.
* Having good auto‑electrical knowledge and some fabrication skills are an advantage.
There is a requirement to work every second weekend, on a 10‑day fortnight. The work cycle, roster and hours can be discussed with shortlisted applicants at the interview phase of the process.
