About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on and commercially savvy Retail Manager to lead day-to-day retail operations within the Twelve Apostles Visitor Centre.
This pivotal role is accountable for driving retail performance, delivering a compelling and high-quality product offer, and enhancing the overall visitor experience while supporting sustainable and regenerative tourism outcomes at one of Australia's most iconic natural destinations.

As part of the foundation team for the opening of the new Twelve Apostles Visitor Centre, you'll play a key role in curating a retail offer that reflects place, tells meaningful stories and leaves a lasting legacy for millions of visitors for decades to come.
Key Accountabilities
Reporting to the Twelve Apostles Precinct General Manager, the Retail Manager plays a key leadership role within the precinct, contributing to operational coordination, duty management and the delivery of an exceptional visitor experience.
In essence, the Twelve Apostles Precinct Retail Manager is accountable for:
Retail Operations & Performance: Lead day-to-day retail operations, ensuring exceptional presentation, service standards and operational efficiency.
Commercial Performance: Drive retail revenue, manage the retail P&L and optimise performance through effective merchandising, pricing and stock control.
Product Development & Procurement: Curate and evolve a compelling retail offer aligned to precinct values, visitor expectations and local, ethical and sustainable sourcing.
Retail Strategy & Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement retail strategies that enhance performance, respond to visitor insights and support precinct objectives.
People Leadership & Capability: Build and lead a high-performing retail team through effective workforce planning, training and performance development.
Safety, Compliance & Governance: Ensure retail operations meet all safety, compliance and emergency management requirements.
About You
You are an experienced retail leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-volume visitor environments, balancing strong commercial outcomes with high-quality service, sustainability and care for place.
Experience implementing sustainable, ethical or locally focused procurement strategies will be highly regarded.
You will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in retail management, business, hospitality, tourism or equivalent experience.
Significant experience (minimum 5 years) in retail management within high-volume visitor, tourism or customer-facing environments.
Proven experience managing retail P&Ls, budgets, forecasting and commercial performance.
Strong experience in product development, procurement, supplier management and stock control
A visitor-focused approach with strong communication and collaboration skills.
A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused mindset that thrives under pressure.
Proven experience leading, training and developing teams, with a strong track record of building a high-performance culture and delivering exceptional customer service.
