About the Role

This fantastic opportunity is for a motivated Associate looking to join our high-performing Insurance Litigation and Regulatory Practice in the Brisbane office.

The role will see you working on a wide variety of interesting public liability, general insurance litigation and advice plus professional indemnity and disciplinary work on behalf of a variety of allied health professionals. Prior insurance litigation experience in similar areas of practice will be viewed favourably.

You will assist in the defence of civil claims brought against allied health professionals such as pharmacists, chiropractors, osteopaths and vets, and assist these professionals to respond to regulatory inquiries and disciplinary proceedings. There is also an opportunity to act in the defence of personal injury claims in a range of industry sectors such as childcare, fitness as well as in dust and abuse claims. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical and written advocacy skills.

This exciting role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to be heavily involved in all aspects of their cases, allowing you to make a significant contribution to their outcome. You will receive consistent mentoring from Principals and Senior Lawyers and will form part of our wider team which boasts a collegiate, innovative and collaborative culture, making it the perfect environment for you to develop your advocacy skills, strategic-advice work, and practice management skills.

About you

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need:

* To be an experienced lawyer with 2 – 4 years post admission experience where you have ideally had exposure to some or all of the types of matters detailed above.
* Experience in the defence of complex PIPA claims and/or investigations carried out by AHPRA, OHO, and other regulatory bodies
* Outstanding technical skills including strong academic performance
* Experience working with, and analysing, high volume data sets and evidence.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Firmly established time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
* Teamwork and collaboration skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work independently.
* Ability to apply compassion and empathy to clients.
