About the Role
In collaboration with our Executive Chef and Kitchen team, you will support the day-to-day operations of our Food & Beverage department, which includes Wharf 350 Bar & Restaurant, In-Room Dining, and Conference & Events.
Working alongside the Food & Beverage team, you will contribute to delivering a distinctive, on-brand, and high-quality experience across all outlets, events, conferences, and social functions.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing kitchen operations during preparation and service with efficiency and focus
- Mentor and train kitchen team members
- Support kitchen operations including ordering, stock control and rostering
- Work alongside the Executive Chef with menu development and specials
- Maintain a high standard in food safety and compliance
- Drive a culture of professionalism and accountability
Skills & Experience
- Prior experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie within 4-5 star property
- A creative flair and solid understanding of menu development
- Strong attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations
- Outstanding leadership and teamwork capabilities
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- A proactive, self-motivated approach to work
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Practical knowledge of HACCP procedures and food safety standards
- Experience with rostering, ordering, and payroll processes is highly regarded
- Availability to work across a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
