Mechanic - SOT – Fleet Maintenance
Location: Botany, New South Wales

Overview
Based at Council's Botany Depot, this role performs fault diagnoses and plant, vehicle and equipment servicing and repairs to ensure that Council's plant fleet is safe, fit for purpose and operating at optimum efficiency. The role works within a team of Mechanics and covers a broad range of vehicles and equipment owned and operated by Bayside Council. No two days are the same as you will service everything from whipper snippers to passenger vehicles to large mechanical sweeper trucks. The role is primarily based at the Botany Depot workshop but may require travel to the Bexley Depot on occasion to meet operational needs.
Responsibilities
* Perform fault diagnosis and servicing/repairs on plant, vehicle and equipment to ensure safety, reliability and efficiency.
* Conduct preventative maintenance and ensure equipment is safe and fit for purpose.
* Work across a broad range of vehicles and equipment as part of the Council's fleet maintenance team.
* Travel between depots as required to meet operational needs.
About You (Qualifications and Skills)
* Qualified and Licensed Mechanic – preferably heavy vehicle.
* Ability to fault find and repair hydraulic, diesel and electrical components.
* SafeWork NSW white card (general construction induction card).
* Proven team player with a "can do" attitude.
* MR / HR Driver's Licence preferred or willingness to obtain.
