Kickstart your deadly career with Maxima and Qantas through a School-Based Traineeship, where you'll combine paid employment with completion of your secondary school studies.
A School-Based Traineeship is a paid opportunity that allows students to gain firsthand industry experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification that contributes to their High School Certificate. You'll attend school while working part time to complete your Traineeship.

The Role:
As a School-Based Trainee, you will work onsite at Qantas one day a week, providing exceptional customer service, while attending school on the remaining days.
These opportunities are due to commence early January 2026.
Under the guidance of experienced mentors, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide direct customer service support including check-in and passenger handling
- Support passenger profiling, preflight requirements, upgrades, seat requests, transfers, and other airport customer service functions
- Develop your knowledge of the aviation industry
About You:
- Positive and proactive
- Willing to learn and take initiative
- Able to build rapport with a variety of people
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Punctual, reliable and have a strong work ethic
- Strong computer knowledge including Microsoft Office
Role Requirements:
- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- Commencing Year 11 in 2026
- Able to meet Qantas' onboarding requirements:
- Identification requirements for an ASIC Check
- Medical clearance
