About The Role
The Emergency Mental Health team's aim is to provide timely and effective mental health and drugs and alcohol assessments for all consumers and their families who present to the emergency department with acute mental health/drug and alcohol presentations and crisis. This service may be delivered as part of the MHAOD Hub, or within the Emergency Department more broadly. Clinicians receive clinical guidance from the rostered Senior Clinicians (RPN4 / AH3) and their Operational Line Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality and timely mental health, alcohol and other drug assessment to determine the most appropriate treatment and care pathways.
* Under established governance structures, provide clinical advice, recommendations and referrals
What We're Looking For
* Formal professionally recognised qualifications in Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Clinical Psychology
* Clinical mental health experience, with confidence and competence in undertaking clinical assessments, risk assessments and / or acute mental health treatment interventions
