Overview
Are you an experienced Cyber Security Architect ready to take the next step in your career with an iconic Australian brand with a global footprint? We're looking for a Chapter Lead - Cyber Security Architecture to guide and inspire a talented team of 8-12 Security Architects. In this role, youll drive secure architecture design and provide expert consultation across the organisation. This position sits within Global Networks & Technology - Security & Operations, the team responsible for protecting Telstra's critical assets and infrastructure. You'll enjoy a unique blend of strategic leadership (30%) and hands-on technical delivery (70%), giving you the opportunity to shape our security architecture practices and play a key role in Telstra's Cyber Assurance journey.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Security Architects
- Manage contractor resources and allocation effectively
- Align team efforts with Telstra's Cyber Assurance processes and frameworks
- Contribute to wider Cyber Assurance and Security Enablement standards and initiatives
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement security controls in architecture
- Evaluate emerging security technologies and align them with business goals
- Develop reusable security assets including standards and solution patterns
- Influence security strategy, standards, and frameworks development
- Document and assess security solution architectures and their impact
- Clearly communicate security risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Build strategic relationships with industry leaders and technology vendors
What you bring to the role
- Proven leadership and mentoring experience in security teams
- Strong commercial awareness and supplier management skills
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Security Architecture with complex solution design
- Ability to solve enterprise-scale security challenges in ambiguous environments
- Experience in architecture or technology strategy development
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies
- Knowledge of IT systems planning and technical architecture frameworks
- Experience with Service Oriented and RESTful architecture design
- Relevant certifications such as CRISC, CISSP, CISM, SABSA, CCNP, CCSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT 5, CGEIT
