Set high in the suburb of Belrose, Glenaeon is a vibrant retirement village with panoramic views of the ocean and acres of native bushland, which offers quality amenities, friendly neighbours and a tranquil setting for our residents and their families. Glenaeon comprises both serviced apartments and independent living units (not residential aged care).
As a Maintenance Supervisor you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our properties by undertaking maintenance activities and providing excellent customer service to our residents. We are seeking a proactive individual with strong communication skills, intermediate computer skills and a knack for problem-solving.
Reporting to the Village Manager, your duties will include;
- Coordinating and undertaking maintenance tasks, repairs, and inspections for residential properties
- Assisting with basic handyperson tasks as needed, including minor repairs and installations
- Implementing and adhering to EHS procedures, ensuring safety of all residents, visitors and contractors
- Communicating effectively with residents to address maintenance requests promptly and efficiently
- Collaborating with external contractors to ensure timely completion of work orders
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and update databases accordingly
- Assisting with various Adhoc duties where required, as directed by the Village Manager
Who You Are
**To be successful in the role, you will**:
- Hold a trade qualification, with proven experience in the building industry or in a similar role - highly regarded
- Be organised and able to effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks
- Have effective communication skills
- Have an excellent understanding of machinery use and tools required for the job
- Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or be willing to obtain one)
- Be computer literate e.g. intermediate/basic knowledge with using Excel, Word, Outlook apps
- Have the ability to take initiative and be pro-active
- Have the ability to work individually and in a team
- Hold a current Australian driver's licence
