The Research and Sustainable Futures portfolio is managed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Sustainable Futures (DVC-RSF) Professor David Currow. The teams within the portfolio all emphasise partnership and collaboration to deliver real-world impact, demonstrating our commitment to innovation by giving great ideas a genuine business incubator pathway.
We are seeking a high-level Executive Officer to provide strategic and professional advice and support to the DVC-RSF and oversee a range of university functions in support of the broader RSF portfolio.
This position will require a deep knowledge of the strategies, activities and institutional responsibilities led by the DVC-RSF to effectively develop strategic initiatives and successfully implement resulting outcomes.
The Executive Officer will manage multiple, complex, and/or urgent demands which may impact the portfolio, requiring the ability to use experience-based judgment to manage these accordingly. The Officer will take responsibility for ad-hoc issues and other complex issues autonomously, or work in consultation to provide advice and solutions.
This role demands the highest degree of confidentiality and discretion.
To be successful in this role you will hold a relevant degree with extensive senior experience working within a higher education environment, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training. Extensive experience developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships at all levels and interacting with tact and diplomacy to deliver strategic organisational outcomes and influence others to bring about change in a complex, collegial environment. In addition, highly developed skills and experience project managing the design, development and implementation of strategic initiatives and programs within a large, complex organisation will be highly regarded.
