Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef de Partie to join our kitchen brigade. The successful candidate will be responsible for running a designated section of the kitchen, supporting senior chefs, and helping deliver consistently high-quality dishes.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Prepare, cook, and present dishes within your designated section in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff and apprentices working within the section.
• Ensure food quality and consistency while maintaining portion control and reducing waste.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef on menu planning and special dishes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in your section, ensuring compliance with food hygiene and safety standards.
• Monitor stock levels for your section and communicate supply needs to management.
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries in accordance with food safety regulations.
• Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands.
• Uphold the venue’s reputation for excellence by contributing to a culture of high performance and accountability in the kitchen.
Skills and Qualifications
• AQF Certificate III in Patisserie or equivalent (ANZSCO Skill Level 3).
• Minimum of 3 years' full-time work experience in a commercial pastry role.
• High attention to detail, creativity, and a strong aesthetic sense.
• Solid knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene procedures.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Good time management and organisational skills.
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
