Job Title: Building Services Engineer
Location: Southampton
Length: 4-month temporary position
Rate: £25 - £30 via Umbrella/CIS - per hour based on a 37-hour week - weekly pay
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive mechanically biased Building Services engineer to support our clients' Estates team. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and improvement of mechanical systems across a wide range of the estate buildings.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on mechanical & water systems, including HVAC, pumps, boilers, and plumbing.
Diagnose faults and perform repairs to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives through effective maintenance practices.
Liaise with contractors and other trades to ensure high standards of service delivery.
Maintain accurate records of work.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and policies.
About You
Great understanding of Water systems, AC & BMS
Proven experience in a similar role within a commercial, educational or FM workplace
Knowledge of mechanical & water systems, including HVAC, heating, and plumbing
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Awareness of health and safety legislation and best practices
