This is a Youth Worker role with University of Sydney based in Camperdown, NSW, AU University of Sydney Role Seniority - junior More about the Youth Worker role at University of Sydney Part time (17.5 hours per week), fixed term until October 2026 Contribute to youth mental health and wellbeing through direct engagement and community activities Base Salary $72,966 p.a. pro rata 17% superannuation About the opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to join headspace Camperdown, part of the University of Sydney’s Brain and Mind Centre. As a Youth Worker, you will provide direct support to young people aged 12–25, fostering a safe, inclusive, and youth-friendly environment. You will play a vital role in psychosocial group activities, community engagement, and outreach initiatives that promote wellbeing and social connection. Your key responsibilities will be to: work closely with young people, carers, clinicians, peer workers, and community partners facilitate psychosocial group and individual activities that promote mental health and wellbeing support intake and orientation processes for new clients provide practical support including advocacy and navigation of services contribute to planning and delivery of community engagement activities and youth events assist in creating and scheduling youth-friendly social media content. About you certificate IV in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of training and experience demonstrated experience working with young people, including CALD and Indigenous populations experience in child and/or youth mental health, or demonstrated knowledge of this area ability to actively engage young people from diverse backgrounds in a strengths-based manner experience in community development, health promotion, or program delivery to youth audiences skills in implementing newsletters, blogs, and social media posts. Please note that the hours for the role will be split over 4 afternoons during the times that our group programs run. The estimated times are below. Mon 1:30-6pm Tues 1:30- 6pm Wed 1:30-6pm Thurs 2-6pm Please submit a copy of CV and cover letter when submitting an application.
