Primary objective
Provide strategic management, specialist advice and effective service delivery pertaining to supply chain management of inventory
materials in a Public Health Care System.
Context statement
Provide leadership and line management of the inventory team and strong customer service with a focus on agreed deliverables for
predominantly critical medical consumables.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide strategic, specialist advice and service deliverables to external clients on the development of inventory materials, processes
and practices and the effective management of warehousing, inventory and distribution.
2. Manage Inventory Warehouse functions ensuring the delivery of a cost effective and efficient stock warehousing, distribution and
logistical service to Central Australia Health Service, Department of Health and Non-Government approved clients.
3. Develop, implement, and overview all policies and procedures in relation to the management of inventory, to maintain continuous
improvement, staff development and compliance with legislation and standards.
4. Provide leadership, explicit direction and line management to the Inventory team ensuring that Human Resource related matters are
managed as per policy.
5. Work collaboratively with external stakeholders and the Stock Control Officer to manage inventory levels including contingency
planning ensuring continuation of supply.
6. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken, in
order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
7. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience and high level interpersonal and communication skills including the effective use of negotiation and
assertiveness skills when meeting with internal and external agencies.
2. Proven experience in high level adaptability and flexibility including the ability to manage in a complex ever-changing environment
undertaking continuous improvement.
3. Proven ability to work independently, ability to think and act strategically and work in a team environment, whilst ensuring completion
of projects within time, quality and budget constraints.
4. Proven ability to undertake high level analysis and provide authoritative advice to a range of stakeholders on the development and
evaluation of a diverse range of complex supply chain issues.
5. Extensive practical experience and in-depth knowledge of change management and implementing continuous improvement practices,
with the ability to maintain integrity, discretion and confidentiality.
6. High level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, across a broad and varied stakeholder group, including an
ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain Management or related business disciplines.
2. Experience working in the Public Health Sector Supply Chain environment.
