School Administrator and Administrative Assistant
The Brisbane German Language School is excited to recruit for two new senior leadership roles within the School: the Administrative Assistant, and the School Administrator. Working alongside passionate language and culture instructors, and an active Management Committee, these two roles will oversee the operational management of the School as it continues to grow.
Applications for these dynamic roles will close on 20/10/25 for a proposed start date of 01/12/25.
As the Administrative Assistant, you will possess a proactive and collaborative mindset and report directly to the School Administrator and the BGLS Management Committee, while supporting the productive operation of the school by managing administrative tasks, maintaining accurate records, and providing essential support to staff, students, and the school community.
The Administrative Assistant will ensure the smooth functioning of daily school operations, financial management, and staff coordination, contributing to a positive and productive educational environment. The Administrative Assistant will demonstrate:
- Qualification in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field;
- Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within an educational or not-for-profit setting;
- Strong understanding of education business principles;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to support the implementation of innovative solutions;
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
- Flexibility in the approach to managing competing timelines and tasks; and
- High professional standards and the ability to present a professional image of BGLS
- Current Working With Children Check or ability to obtain before date of commencement (essential)
- German language skill (desirable but not essential)
- Previous experience with Xero Accounting software and Square (highly desirable)
School Administrator
The School Administrator will report directly to the President and the BGLS Management Committee, and oversee operational management, staff supervision, student support, data analysis and expansion efforts of the Brisbane German Language School (BGLS).
This role ensures the effective delivery of educational services, supports staff and students, and promotes the growth and development of the school. This senior role will demonstrate:
- Evidenced Tertiary qualification in education such as a Diploma of Teaching, Bachelor of Education, or equivalent (essential);
- Previous experience in a senior business role, ideally within an educational or not-for-profit setting;
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to think strategically and implement innovative solutions;
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
- Flexibility in the approach to managing competing timelines and tasks;
- High professional standards and the ability to present a professional image of BGLS; and
- Ability to actively participate in personal and professional development
- German language skill (desired but not essential)
