Head of technology - digital, integrations and enablement

**About the Role**
Reporting to the CIO of Retail and Business Banking, the Head of Technology will be responsible for owning and leading the group wide Digital Channels, Integrations, and Enablement platforms, through the management of multi-disciplinary engineering teams. This role is critical in providing technical thought leadership, enabling BOQ Group's transformation and ensuring technology solutions are aligned to business objectives.

The Head of Technology will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing modern, scalable solutions that underpin the organisation's digital transformation. They will collaborate closely with technology and business stakeholders to ensure timely, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery of initiatives, balancing business outcomes with technical excellence.

This strategic leadership role requires expertise in Agile ways of working, strong stakeholder management skills, and a deep commitment to fostering a high-performance, high-engagement culture. The Head of Technology will be responsible for mentoring a team of senior managers and platform owners and overseeing the full lifecycle of several platforms. Including developing and managing the technology budget and negotiating contracts with IT partners.

**About you**
- Strategic thinking and ability to transform business objectives into effective technology strategies and initiatives
- Experience in building strong engineering teams that deliver timely and fit for purpose solutions
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to demonstrate experience influencing across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Deep experience in delivering Integration solutions leveraging a diverse technology stack including Azure API Management (APIM)
- Strong understanding and practical experience with contemporary architecture patterns such as Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event-Driven Architecture and Microservices
- Proven track record in building resilient cloud capabilities on Azure, with a deep understanding of cloud-native architectures and best practices.
- Highly experienced in implementing and embedding DevOps, CI/CD, and Software Engineering best practices to drive high-quality, secure, and scalable delivery outcomes.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment where priorities shift as we manage across multiple initiatives
- Experience with both Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies
- Commercially astute, quickly recognising and actioning levers to drive business growth and increase productivity
