Coastal Infrastructure Engineer – Contract Role

About the Role
A contract opportunity for a Coastal Infrastructure Engineer to support coastal infrastructure, foreshore management and waterway planning activities. The role provides technical assessment, design input and investigations across coastal infrastructure, beach and dune management, erosion response, foreshore restoration and canal/foreshore projects. You will contribute to design reviews, site investigations, stakeholder advice and technical reporting within a multidisciplinary coastal planning environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical advice on coastal management, beach erosion, nourishment, foreshore and dune management.
• Undertake field investigations, site inspections and data gathering for coastal and foreshore projects.
• Prepare clear technical reports, recommendations and presentations on engineering and scientific investigations.
• Support development of capital and operational works programs for coastal infrastructure.
• Engage with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide advice and respond to enquiries.
• Contribute positively to a high‑performance, customer‑focused team environment.
Key Selection Criteria
• Sound knowledge and experience in coastal infrastructure planning and management.
• Demonstrated experience in coastal infrastructure design and field/site inspections.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making capability.
• Well‑developed written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing technical reports.
• Degree in Coastal or Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and current C Class driver licence.
