We're busy and we need you! We are rapidly growing and have an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Service Technician to join our Sumner-based team on a full-time permanent basis.
Our new team member will be responsible for undertaking installations, servicing and ongoing maintenance on a range of end-of-line packaging equipment throughout Australia. This role offers invaluable experience and insight into the manufacturing industry for local as well as multinational corporations.

You will have the requisite ability, confidence and knowledge to:
· Carry out field commissioning and testing.
· Provide technical support to the service team members.
· Perform service management duties such as specifying spare parts and drawings.
· Assemble and check spare parts and assemblies prior to dispatch.
· Communicate in a clear and professional manner to customers both oral and written.
· Have a proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement.
· Provide reporting and analysis to various levels of management.
Qualifications / Skills Required
· Completion of suitable trade training, such as Cert III Engineering - Mechanical Trade; or Cert III Fitter & Turner
· Knowledge of packaging specifications, FMCG and processing equipment.
· Knowledge of PLC IO to enable fault finding of equipment.
· Driver's Licence
· 3 years experience in a similar role.
· FMCG mechanical fault-finding experience.
· Proven high mechanical aptitude.
· Hands on technical experience installing end-of-line packaging equipment.
· Competent using Office 365
Your key responsibilities will include:
· Responding to customer service requests including breakdowns, routine maintenance, equipment audits and surveys.
· Trouble shooting and repair support.
· Training of customer operators and technical personnel in the efficient use of the equipment.
· Managing and responding to local and interstate breakdowns.
· Identifying and rectifying mechanical faults.
· Conducting on-site installations as part of a dedicated team.
· Reporting – service reports, status updates, safety documentation, risk assessments, preventative maintenance follow up documentation.
· Creating and maintaining a positive working relationship with customers and employees
· Working unsupervised
· Working flexible hours as required – due to the nature of this role, weekend work and travel will be essential.
· Ensuring all OH&S legislation, company, customer safety policies and procedures are considered and adhered to at all times.
· Generating and completing safe work method statement (SWMS) prior to commencing site work.
· Identifying and communicating updates and improvements to existing manuals. (ISO)
· Performance of service management duties such as specifying spare parts and drawings.
· Assembling and checking spare parts and assemblies prior to dispatch.
