Purpose of the Assistant in Nursing role:
Person-Centered Support
As an Assistant in Nursing, your primary goal is to provide high-quality support services that cater to the unique needs and goals of individuals with disabilities.
You will work closely with clients to empower them to set and achieve their goals, making informed decisions about their lives and accessing community resources as needed.

Role Responsibilities:
* Provide an enjoyable, respectful, and safe environment for all individuals we support.
* Provide personal/physical care and support to clients, including grooming, toileting, meal preparation and assistance, home support, transport, and medication administration.
* Support the use of physical and communication aids and devices and other personal equipment where required.
* Enable clients to participate successfully in individual interests, hobbies, and relationships in the community.
* Support clients to access recreational services, transport services, including public transport, taxis, and vehicles.
* Advocate for and assist clients, their families, and significant people in their lives to access and engage with community resources.
* Complete client documentation, including writing case notes, updating our client management system, communication booklets, medical documentation, etc.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Relevant qualifications (minimum Cert IV in Disability or Individual Support).
* Strong interpersonal, role modeling, and customer service skills.
* Problem-solving abilities with an ability to adapt to changing environments.
* Understanding of and commitment to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Code of Conduct and Workplace Health and Safety.
* Awareness of human rights and challenges facing individuals with disabilities.
* Ability to transport clients in our vehicles across the region. Candidates without a current NSW driver's license are subject to a risk assessment.
* Experience in working with and supporting adults and/or children with complex disabilities.
