Job Summary
Rubberliners and belt splicers play a vital role in various tasks during shutdowns across Western Australia.
* Lining interior of tanks, valves, pipes, and similar articles with rubber sheeting is crucial to prevent corrosion and contamination risks.
* Prepare surfaces for rubber lining by scraping, painting, and ensuring appropriate sandblasting.
* Test linings for holes and faulty seams.
* Operate plant and machinery, including vulcaniser presses, overhead cranes, winches, and belt winders.
* Respond to breakdowns on customer sites.
* Install conveyor belts and perform fabric and steel cord splicing.
* Conduct hot and cold repairs, belt change-outs, and shutdown preparation.
* Perform general conveyor maintenance and inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lining interior of tanks, valves, pipes, and similar articles with rubber sheeting to prevent damage.
* Preparing surfaces for lining by cleaning, painting, and sandblasting.
* Testing linings for defects.
* Operating equipment, including vulcaniser presses, cranes, and winches.
* Responding to site emergencies.
* Installing conveyor belts and performing fabric and steel cord splicing.
* Maintaining and inspecting conveyors.
