The Opportunity
An established engineering consultancy is looking to bring on a Senior SCADA Engineer to act as a technical lead across complex energy and infrastructure projects. This position focuses on the delivery of SCADA and control systems across planning engineering delivery testing and operational support phases. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams while taking ownership of SCADA outcomes on major projects.
What You Will Be Doing
SCADA Engineering and Design
* Define SCADA system architectures functional descriptions and interface requirements aligned with project objectives
* Support feasibility concept development and detailed engineering activities
Technical Governance
* Develop and review engineering specifications equipment selections and design deliverables
* Lead design assurance activities including risk reviews safety considerations and constructability assessments
Project Execution
* Manage SCADA and controls scopes through tender evaluation procurement and construction support phases
* Act as a senior technical reference point for project teams and junior engineers
Systems Configuration and Integration
* Deliver PLC and RTU logic development, SCADA configuration, communications networks and system integration
* Manage databases interfaces and data exchange between field devices and control systems
Testing and Commissioning
* Support FAT/SAT site testing and commissioning activities
* Ensure systems meet contractual technical and regulatory requirements
Delivery Management
* Coordinate SCADA activities to meet programme cost and scope commitments
* Liaise with clients contractors and internal stakeholders to support successful outcomes
What You Will Bring
* Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar
* Extensive experience delivering SCADA and control systems for HV substations or network assets
* Strong knowledge of T&D and protection and control environments
* Proven capability producing engineering documentation specifications and reports for complex control systems
* Experience working within Australian regulatory frameworks and technical standards
* Direct experience with PLC and RTU platforms, SCADA software and industrial communications
* Working knowledge of protocols such as DNP3, Modbus and TCP IP
* Engineers Australia membership with RPEQ or RPEV registration advantageous
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
