Candidates
3-7 years' experience in commercial construction, with a proven track record administering subcontract agreements from award through to close-out.
Estimating capability – can interpret drawings and specifications, perform take-offs, and develop accurate construction budgets.
Procurement and compliance knowledge – understands tendering, subcontract procurement, compliance documentation, financial control, and the management of variations, procurement schedules, and progress claims.
Strong communication and organisation skills – able to coordinate multiple priorities and maintain clear communication with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Contract and regulatory knowledge – familiar with Australian Standard contracts, variations, and building codes/regulations.
Technical proficiency – advanced in Microsoft Excel and experience with Buildxact, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction and estimating software.
Relevant qualifications – degree or diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
The Role
Contract Administration – manage the commercial and contractual aspects of projects and facilities, ensuring documentation, approvals, and claims are completed accurately and on time.
Tendering & Estimating – coordinate tender requests, interpret drawings and specifications, and contribute to competitive and accurate pricing submissions.
Cost Book Development – build and maintain internal cost books and historical rate libraries for labour, materials, and subcontractor pricing to improve consistency and speed in future estimates.
Cost Control & Procurement – monitor budgets, variations, and progress claims; assist with forecasts and cost-to-complete reviews; identify savings; and coordinate timely procurement with site and trade teams.
Quality & Compliance – ensure all work complies with contractual requirements, building codes, and safety standards, while supporting continuous improvement and risk management.
