We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highlymotivated and driven Principal Scientist to join the SouthAustralian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) Divisionwithin the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The primary purpose of the role is to provide high levelstatistical analysis of data sets and model development, andundertake stock assessments for wild-stock fisheries, principallyin South Australia, but also extending to other Australian states.Model parameter estimation will be undertaken using a statisticalmodelling programming language such as R, ADMB or TMB, or usingStock Synthesis or related software. The candidate will directdevelopment of new assessment models, and modify or adapt existingones, which contributes to delivering scientific advice and stockassessments for the sustainable management of SA’s fisheriesresources.

8. Essential: A PhD in statistics, mathematics or a fisheries related discipline (or equivalent research experience) is required.
