About the role
SafeWork NSW is expanding its inspectorate as part of a $127.7 million NSW government investment. We seek experienced professionals to join as Assistant State Inspectors across three focus areas:
- Return to Work – improve outcomes for injured workers by ensuring rehabilitation and recovery obligations are met through inspections, education and compliance activities.
- Investigations – conduct complex investigations, gather evidence and enforce compliance to address critical incidents and improve safety outcomes.
- Psychosocial (Workplace Stress, Bullying & Harassment) – lead inspections, investigations and interventions focused on psychosocial risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct inspections, investigations and interventions in the assigned focus area.
- Gather and analyze evidence, apply transparent decision‑making and enforce compliance.
- Collaborate with other regulators to improve safety outcomes.
- Provide education and guidance to employers on rehabilitation, recovery and psychosocial risk management.
