About the Role
The Event Manager is the highest-ranking authority on event day at Browne Park Stadium. You will hold ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and successful delivery of all event day operations — overseeing every department, making final decisions on all operational and safety matters, and serving as the primary liaison between Capras management and the event day team.
What You'll Be Responsible For
* Conducting the final venue readiness inspection before gates open
* Overseeing all departments and ensuring cohesive event delivery across operations, hospitality, and security
* Acting as the designated Responsible Person under the venue's liquor licence
* Holding final authority on all safety-critical decisions including evacuations and crowd risk management
* Serving as the primary point of contact for police, security, medical providers, and Capras management
* Assuming command during any major incident or emergency
* Conducting a full venue walk and authorising lock-up at the conclusion of the event
* Leading the post-event debrief and signing off all incident reports
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience in venue, event, or operations management — preferably in a sporting or large-scale event environment
* Strong leadership and decision-making ability under pressure
* Sound knowledge of Queensland liquor licensing and RSA obligations
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage across multiple departments simultaneously
* Current RSA certificate (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
