Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake field assessments independently across South East Queensland, including flora and fauna surveys, habitat assessments, and environmental constraints mapping.
* Prepare and execute clear, concise technical reports to support development applications (DA), operational works (OPW), and ecological management plans.
* Utilise QGIS to analyse and present ecological data in spatial context.
* Ensure alignment with relevant State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and planning frameworks.
* Collaborate with planners, engineers, and other environmental specialists to deliver integrated project outcomes.
* Support project delivery including time management, client liaison, and documentation.
You'll Bring:
* Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Ecology, Zoology, Botany or a related field.
* A solid working knowledge of SEQ ecosystems and regional ecology.
* Proven experience conducting fieldwork in SEQ, ideally with independent planning and delivery capability.
* Proficiency in QGIS and ecological mapping.
* Experience preparing ecological reports for DA/OPW applications, monitoring, or management purposes.
* Current driver's licence and willingness to travel for fieldwork.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A collaborative mindset and ability to work within a multidisciplinary project team.
