Xavier College is seeking a Finance and Accounting Officerto join our vibrant and expanding Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager under moderate direction, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the College's business and financial operations.
This is a dynamic and varied role, suited to a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional looking to work in a purpose-driven environment.
As Finance and Accounting Officer, you will:
* Prepare end-of-year financial statements and supporting documentation for audit.
* Assist the Finance Manager in budget preparation and forecasting.
* Support strategic planning and decision making through preparation of financial reports.
* Prepare of monthly BAS, annual FBT returns, and other tax compliance documents
* Support fee collection processes
* Process salary claims and reimbursements
* Work collaboratively with the Finance team to support the College's financial health, compliance, and long-term sustainability

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
* A Diploma or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar, and/or significant work experience in a comparable role.
* Strong knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls, and financial legislation.
* A collaborative and professional approach to supporting leadership, staff and the Finance team.
* Ability to analyze, diagnose, design and implement solutions across a broad range of technical and operational functions
* Excellent communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
