The Role
We have an exciting temporary full-time position available to join our Educational Delivery team in Western Queensland at TAFE Queensland’s Roma Campus.
As a TAFE Teacher in the Automotive team, you will have the prospect to influence the careers of future industry persons by sharing your extensive industry knowledge to students in a classroom or other educational setting.
This position reports to the Western Queensland Manager.
The salary range for a TAFE Teacher is $92,930 - $122,084 (gross) per annum, depending on educational qualifications held and teaching experience.
- Four (4) weeks recreation leave (accrued annually)
- Five (5) weeks Non-Attendance Time programmed annually for preparation
- Paid overtime arrangements may be available, according to operational requirements, with generous compensation

Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must possess one or a combination of the following qualifications:
- AUR31220 Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent; or
- AUR31120 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology; or
- MEM31419 Certificate III in Engineering – Fixed and Mobile Plant Mechanic or equivalent
And hold or willing to obtain the following:
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card). For further information, please access:
- current Queensland Driver’s licence.
- current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
- current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
- evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment;
To become a TAFE Teacher you must hold one of the following training and assessment credentials:
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills (or TAELLN401A) and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools (or TAESS502A or TAEASS502B); or
- TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or
- TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor; or
- TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development; or
- TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development or its successor; or
- A higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).

Highly Desirable
Candidates who possess the following will be highly regarded:
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- High level of digital literacy skills across various platforms (online Learning Management Systems).
