We manage 35 waste facilities, including landfills and transfer stations, and provide recycling and resource recovery programs to reduce landfill and promote sustainability. The Opportunity
As a Casual Waste Operations Truck Driver, you'll assist in the removal and transportation of waste and recyclables from East Gippsland Shire's waste facilities, ensuring materials are delivered to designated locations. The role involves operating heavy vehicles and equipment, maintaining accurate records, and supporting safe, efficient waste logistics across the shire. You will need a Heavy Combination License as a minimum.
Key responsibilities include:
* Operate heavy vehicles and equipment to transport waste and recyclables between Council waste facilities and designated locations.
* Complete pre-start checks, maintain vehicles and equipment, and schedule necessary repairs to ensure safe and efficient operations.
* Accurately record waste movements and plant maintenance activities, supporting compliance and operational reporting.
* Assist with unloading e-waste containers, recycling collections, and other tasks as directed.
What we're looking for:
* Demonstrated
ability to operate truck and trailer for the carting of waste, preferably hook
lift truck experience.
* Well
established ability to communicate effectively with team members.
* Demonstrated
ability to work with little or no supervision.
* To
be physically able to perform the duties of the position.
* Ability
to work non-standard hours and at various locations as required.
* A
current, valid Victorian driver's licence - Heavy Combination Truck as a
minimum.
