Primary objective
Manage the production of communications and multimedia collateral to support departmental objectives.
Context statement
The Department of Corrections communications and engagement team provides strategic communication and engagement
services to the department. The team and its resources help to support the Department of Corrections’ strategic plan and
objectives.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Direct, produce and edit in-house multimedia projects and work with external stakeholders on larger multimedia
productions including television campaigns.
2. Work with stakeholders to deliver on design and multimedia requests.
3. Provide expert advice to assist clients in achieving the best outcomes for their projects.
4. Develop detailed project plans, scripts, and storyboards for a broad range of internal and external multimedia projects.
5. Develop a broad range of communications collateral and multimedia projects to support the needs of clients in
developing effective and engaging resources.
6. Support communications activities such as internal communications and social media.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Ability to create, produce and edit communications materials including marketing collateral and videos.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and procedures involved in producing contemporary, quality digital media
collateral.
3. Robust and clear interpersonal and communication skills, able to express ideas clearly and fluently, both orally and in
writing.
4. Ability to maintain knowledge including emerging trends in digital media.
5. Proven high level knowledge of contemporary industry standard multi-media, editing, animation, graphic design and web
casting software packages.
6. Sound knowledge of public administration, corporate governance requirements and government decision making
framework.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualifications in design, marketing, communications, photography, or videography or a related discipline is highly
desirable.
