The roleAs Chief Procurement Officer, you will lead Queensland Health's procurement function, overseeing a total spend of $3.3 billion across the state.
Reporting to the Deputy Director-General, Corporate Services Division, you will drive strategic sourcing, procurement and supply chain management to maximise value for customers.
This role is responsible for creating a customer-focused, cost-optimised, and innovative procurement function that delivers savings, improves supplier performance, and supports world-class healthcare outcomes.
You will also lead procurement transformation, ensuring robust category strategies, supply security, and effective supplier relationships across medical and non-medical categories.
With nine direct reports, you will build and inspire a high-performing team, foster continuous improvement, and ensure Queensland Health is regarded as a "customer of choice" with its supplier base.
The Successful Person
You will be a proven leader with extensive experience in managing large and complex procurement functions.
You will bring: A track record of delivering strong procurement outcomes across diverse categories, ideally including both medical and non-medical.
Deep expertise in strategic procurement, change management, and supplier relationship management.
Strong financial and commercial acumen, with exceptional negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated ability to balance strategic vision with operational detail, ensuring both long-term impact and day-to-day excellence.
Highly developed leadership capabilities, including building enduring relationships, developing talent, and driving innovation.
A collaborative approach that empowers teams, partners, and suppliers to achieve sustainable, system-wide benefits.

About the Division
The Corporate Services Division (CSD) provides a wide-range of enabling and business support services to the Department of Health.
Focusing on delivering essential corporate services in partnership to enable a high performing Queensland health system, the CSD is responsible for major corporate functions including finance, human resources, legal, risk and assurance, governance, business enhancement, procurement and strategic communications.
