Responsibilities
* Assist in the assessment of the most suitable workflow process for Heavy Vehicle, then administer the HV permits to ensure compliance and successful delivery.
* Assist in identifying possible problem areas and negotiate modifications or adaptations to the heavy vehicle traffic routes where necessary to achieve acceptance.
* Determine appropriate bridge and road maintenance procedures, work instructions and manage road and bridge maintenance tasks.
* Manage projects or elements of projects under supervision.
* Assist on the planning and heavy vehicle permit workflow process to ensure smooth delivery of heavy vehicle permit outcomes, achieving value for money and best practice.
* Ensure all quality management procedures are adhered to.
* Maintain effective liaison and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Currently enrolled in second or third year of a four-year, Washington Accord accredited Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent, assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
* Current holder of a Class C driver's licence.
* Required to undergo employment screening (for example a criminal history check) as part of the selection process.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Familiarity with asset management principles and practices.
* A keen interest in working within the public sector and contributing to infrastructure projects.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
