Your Role And Responsibilities
An IBM Data Integration Consultant serves as a technical expert within IBM Consulting, helping global clients transform complex data sets into actionable business value.
Solution Design & Delivery: Design and implement end-to-end data integration and governance solutions using tools like IBM DataStage, Informatica, and cloud-native services. ETL Pipeline Development: Create, test, and maintain robust Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes for both batch and real-time streaming data. Collaborative Consulting: Work in Agile squads to gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into functional specifications. Data Governance & Quality: Define policies for master data governance and implement cleansing activities to ensure high-quality data flow across platforms. Cloud & Migration Support: Facilitate migrations to hybrid cloud environments, often leveraging IBM Cloud Pak for Data or platforms like Azure and AWS.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
ETL/ELT Tools: Deep expertise in IBM DataStage, Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, or Ab Initio. Programming & Scripting: Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Unix shell scripting. Enterprise Platforms: Experience with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) and Snowflake for large-scale data warehousing. Modern Architecture: Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
