About the role
With continued expansion across the Central West and forecasted growth into 2026, there is a clear and increasing need to strengthen our ecological capacity in New South Wales. we are seeking two additional ecology staff members, with the Central West NSW identified as the preferred base location to best service current and anticipated projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct field ecology activities and be the knowledge expert in field ecology related activities throughout the division
* Opportunities may arise for you to work across NSW Australia where your skills are required, and depending on your achievements, your role with Biodiversity Australia could have significant long term career growth
What you'll bring:
* Minimum 2-3 years postgraduate experience in a relevant field is desirable
* Knowledge of consulting practices.
* Demonstrated experience in preparing, submitting, and managing specialist biological and ecological assessment reports.
* Tertiary qualification in Ecology, Zoology, and/or Natural Resource Management or equivalent
* Ability and willingness to undertake field work when required
* Experience in bushfire consulting will be highly regarded
* Certification in protected plant surveys is desirable
* Strong knowledge of flora and fauna.
* High attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Current drivers licence, White Card and First Aid Certificate
