Purpose of the Role:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility and grounds maintenance to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines trade expertise with team coordination and strategic asset management.
Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Planning
 * Lead and supervise the maintenance team, contractors, and external trades.
 * Develop and manage the site's maintenance schedules and preventative programs.
 * Ensure compliance with WHS regulations, aged care standards, and organisational policies.
 * Monitor maintenance budgets and contribute to strategic planning for capital works and asset upgrades.
Facilities & Grounds Maintenance
 * Oversee the upkeep of buildings, plant, and equipment to ensure optimal function and safety.
 * Coordinate and conduct general repairs, preventative and corrective maintenance.
 * Ensure timely and effective response to maintenance requests and safety concerns.
 * Maintain the health and appearance of lawns, gardens, and outdoor areas.
Tool, Asset, and Compliance Management
 * Maintain an accurate asset register and ensure all maintenance documentation is up to date.
 * Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of tools, machinery, and hazardous substances.
 * Lead preparation for accreditation and audits relating to facilities and infrastructure.
Team Collaboration & Communication
 * Foster a culture of safety, respect, and teamwork within the maintenance team.
 * Liaise with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
 * Promote the role and function of TCC within the local community, residents, and families.
 * Availability to work on a rotating on-call basis as required
Qualifications and Experience:
 * Trade qualification or extensive experience in a similar facilities management role
 * Proven leadership and team coordination experience
 * Sound understanding of building compliance, WHS, and asset management
 * Physical ability to perform manual tasks and safely operate tools and machinery
 * Current driver's licence
 * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
 * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
 * Basic computer literacy (email, asset systems, maintenance logs)
 * Understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards (desirable)
