Senior Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Project Engineer

Our client is adding to an established project delivery team to execute improvement and sustaining capital work to an operating chemical processing plant.
The successful candidate will work closely with the production, maintenance, process engineering, and procurement teams, as well as a network of established contract service providers to deliver projects safely, on schedule and on budget.
The Senior Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control Project Engineer will provide engineering expertise in compliance, defect elimination, asset performance improvements, condition monitoring, and lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities include:
Provide technical leadership to drive and support E&I capital projects.
Establish project controls to manage variations, cost tracking, scheduling, sub-contractor engagement and management.
Track spend against budget and forecast future spend profile.
Prepare technical specifications and scopes of work for tender packages, and coordinate with other disciplines & procurement team for the purchasing and integration of new equipment into the overall plant design.
Plan and schedule installation activities.
Engage external or internal drafting resources and undertake engineering checks of drawings and calculations.
Assist with the commissioning of new process plant installations.
Raise and manage investigation and closeout of safety incident reports and quality non-conformance reports.
Prepare capital budgets for E&I projects/programs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Develop life cycle cost analysis to determine the optimum whole of life asset strategy.
Develop design scope specification for each Project, ensuring appropriate stakeholder input and sign-off.
Profile
Key skills required include:
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering - Electrical, Instrumentation, Control/Mechatronics - or trade qualification and project delivery experience.
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in design and implementation of E&I capital projects in a brownfields environment.
Experience in HV Distribution, HV/LV Switchgear MCC, transformers and packaged equipment.
Experience in HV condition monitoring and maintenance management systems.
Strong working knowledge and experience of current applicable Australian E&I standards and Codes.
Exposure to chemical manufacturing plants and an awareness of hazardous operating plants.
Ability to prioritise tasks and work to meet multiple deadlines.
