THE ROLE The Senior Project Officer within the Maintenance Assurance and Property Condition team is responsible for the delivery of compliance and monitoring functions relating to the Homes Victoria maintenance contracts. The primary function of the role is day-to-day oversight of a team of Project Officers who complete compliance audits on maintenance repair works carried out by Homes Victoria contractors, checking it for quality, timeliness, and compliance with the schedule of rates and contract specifications. A high standard of building/trade knowledge, project co-ordination and contract acumen are required to ensure the implementation of systems to facilitate continuous improvement and that key performance indicators are delivered. As the Senior Project Officer, you will work closely with the Manager and fellow Senior Project Officers to translate strategic directions into successful service delivery, bringing commercial professionalism and a focus on achieving tenant-oriented and value for money outcomes. The Senior Project Officer will also coordinate people management, strategic planning and reporting tasks as well as assist with overseeing the collection of property condition information when necessary. This role provides support to develop and implement new ways of working, including the development and maintenance of divisional guidance materials. The role requires a multi-skilled, responsive, and proactive individual able to prioritise tasks and be flexible to changing priorities. ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE * Oversee the development, implementation and review of ongoing inspection arrangements and develop innovative solutions to improve inspection regimes to ensure they are completed accurately and in accordance with departmental procedures, statutory requirements, and contractual terms. * Review the auditing work completed by the team and make determinations as to whether to uphold or amend decisions based off your detailed knowledge of building regulations and the contract the work is being completed under. * Facilitate ongoing training, both in an office setting and on-site, for the entirety of the team to ensure a high-level and consistent output from the work produced.
