We are currently looking for a HSE Manager to join the Civil Resources Division. This position will be based on site in Karratha on a 2/1 roster, reporting to the Project Manager with an indirect reporting line to the Corporate Health and Safety Manager.

In this role, you will be pivotal in fostering a culture of proactive safety leadership, influence positive HSE performance, and lead a team of HSE professionals to support project operational requirements.

The role is accountable for providing HSE guidance to the Project Management Team, ensuring compliance with project, client and legislative requirements and supporting proactive health and safety initiatives. Additionally, you will coach and support a team of HSE Advisors to enable their success as well as foster a strong safety culture on the project.

To be considered for the position as HSE Manager you will possess the following:

* Degree or Diploma qualified in HSE or equivalent (Bachelor preferred)
* Lead Auditor Training, First Aid Training, White card and ICAM Lead Investigator trained
* Extensive experience in a civil and/or construction environment as a HSE Manager, leading a team of HSE professionals
* Experience interpreting client requirements, adapting to project specific needs whilst meeting NRW system expectations and ensuring compliance
* Ability to proactively and effectively coach and mentor Project Leadership Teams, achieving a consistent HSE culture and capability
* Understanding of applicable legislative and other statutory requirements as they apply to the project and/or work environment.
* High level of problem solving and analytical thinking
* Be a clear communicator with the ability to implement and embed safe work practices through coaching and mentoring the Project Leadership Team
* Have strong computer skills including the use of MS Office Suite and Incident Management Systems.
* Previous experience in a FIFO site-based role

You will be responsible for but not limited to:

* Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Projects HSE Management System in line with WA legislation, regulatory requirements and client requirements
* Champion the Projects Critical Risk Management implementation and embed all identified risks and controls through HS initiatives and workplace inspections
* Develop and drive a proactive safety culture across the project, embedding safety leadership at all levels
* Advise the Project Leadership Team on HSE risks, performance, and emerging changes
* Lead the Project HSE Team, providing strong leadership on all HSE-related matters
* Manage, and drive effective investigation reporting methods on all incident investigations inclusive of coaching HSE Advisors on root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions.
* Ability to present to external stakeholders in a confident and professional manner
* Support the Project Leadership Team in Subcontractor Management from a Health and Safety aspect
* Delivery of HSE results from Project internal and external audits
* Facilitate Project Risk Register reviews
* Conduct effective inspections and audits of the workplace focusing on HSE compliance and supporting conformance
* Assist in the roll out of corporate and site-based health and safety initiatives
* Maintain data in the incident reporting system and produce reports in line with project and corporate requirements
