Caregivers of individuals living with dementia can find a sense of purpose and fulfillment by participating in our community singing group. We are seeking dedicated volunteers to assist in leading sessions, coordinating music, and providing support to those in need.
Roles:
* Sessions Coordinator: Plan and coordinate the session's musical elements, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants. Basic skills on guitar, piano or similar are required.
* Music Support Volunteer: Accompany the Sessions Coordinator, help lead songs, or take the lead on a few. Contribute to the song list and enhance the group's overall experience with your instrument and/or voice.
* Tea Coordinator: Collaborate with others to provide and serve a welcoming afternoon tea, offering a mix of sweet, savory, fruit, and gluten-free options.
* Administrative Assistant: Manage essential behind-the-scenes tasks: attendance tracking, payments, badges, new member forms, and reimbursements.
* Support Volunteer: Welcome participants, assist with books and seating, and provide gentle support during the session as needed.
Volunteering with people living with dementia can be highly rewarding. Our organization provides resources and support gatherings to help you build confidence and understanding.
