Technical Lubrication Services (TLS) is a proudly Australian owned company providing technical lubrication solutions and systems, along with inspections, maintenance, and repair of lubrication systems in the mining and refining sectors.
TLS, in conjunction with our sister Company – Laptek Systems provides a diverse range of work throughout the Lubrication field and strongly promotes upskilling for the right personnel as part of our team.
The Opportunity:
Due to continued growth and expansion, we're seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer who will be servicing both Laptek and TLS operations.
The role will be predominantly Perth based however, for the right candidate a few site visits will be require for training and assistance with jobs.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
* Study organisational charts, project data, and functional statements to clarify work responsibilities and reduce duplication.
* Develop work measurement programs, analyse samples, and establish labour utilisation standards.
* Review operational data, production costs, and facility layouts to optimise worker and equipment efficiency.
* Design and develop mechanical equipment, components, and systems for manufacture and construction.
* Prepare technical specifications, determine material and equipment requirements, and contribute to plant layouts.
* Oversee warehouse stock levels, materials coordination, and delivery of equipment to ensure smooth project execution.
* Manage project labour, budgets, and scheduling, ensuring milestones are achieved on time.
* Establish and maintain quality control, safety, and inspection standards across projects.
* Inspect plant, equipment, and systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
* Support maintenance planning, surveys, and coordination of design modifications.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
* Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Able to interpret technical drawings and project data.
* Experienced in inventory management, warehousing, or project support (preferred).
* Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable working with operational data.
* A strong communicator with an eye for quality and detail.
* Physically fit and willing to undertake occasional site work.
Licences & Qualifications (essential):
* C Class Manual Driver's Licence
* Forklift Licence
Desirable (but not essential):
* Confined Space / Gas Test Atmosphere certification (within 2 years)
* High Risk Licence – EWP
* Major client inductions (Rio Tinto, FMG, BHP)
