**About the role**
ALPA is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager who can lead our fast paced, complex payroll workplace. You will lead a small, dedicated team to ensure that the payroll process runs smoothly and is completed with a high level of accuracy as well as in a timely matter. The Payroll Manager will be working with our remote teams, stores and managers as well as our head office to ensure accuracy and efficiencies are met.
**Responsibilities**
- Manage and lead a team of 5 to administer 56 payrolls a fortnight.
- Maintain and reconcile various payroll related accounts and clearing accounts (PAYG, Superannuation, Annual Leave, Long service leave etc).
- System maintenance and assist with changes and updates to payroll software used - Navision (NAV), Time Target, Single Touch etc.
- Generating year-end payroll reconciliations and completion of all year-end tasks by due date across 2 financial years.
- Management of Payroll Department P&L; and Balance sheet accounts.
- Manage and communicate all related tasks connected with CBB (Salary Packaging Provider).
**Skills and Experience**
- Minimum of 3-5 years payroll experience in a similar role
- Team management experience: effective in developing and leading staff
- Solid experience using our current payroll system
- A thorough understanding of payroll regulatory requirements
- Proficient skills in all Microsoft Office Applications
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
