About the jobJoin our great team and lead end‐to‐end mechanical design across diverse greenfield and brownfield resources projects.The OpportunityOur business continues to grow, so we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Townsville team. You'll work across a wide mix of commodities, tackling both greenfield and brownfield projects alongside a high‐performing, collaborative engineering group. This role is ideal for someone who loves taking ownership, solving complex problems, and seeing designs come to life.Responsibilities:Ability to take projects from problem definition, through business case justification, delivery, commissioning, and handoverAssisting with construction and commissioning including occasional site-based work when requiredProduce and ensure design outcomes comply with applicable legislation, standards, and client project requirementsUndertake mechanical and piping engineering design calculations for bulk materials handling plants, wet process plants and heavy industryDevelopment and continuous improvement of the mechanical and piping design tools; including drawings datasheets, equipment, schedules and modelsProvide succinct updates / reporting and timely escalation of issuesDevelopment and input into capital cost estimates, scopes of work / proposals for tender processes when requiredThe Ideal Candidate:Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical EngineeringCPEng / RPEQ Qualification (or working towards)7+ years working experience as a Mechanical EngineerPrevious experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancySignificant mining, minerals processing or industrial experienceMechanical, materials handling and piping design experienceDesign experience in wet and/or dry mineral processing plantsKnowledge and practical application of relevant industry codes of practiceAbility to understand and assimilate project and client specific requirementsSelf-motivated and decisive, adaptable to change and competing demandsWhy Join Us?At Agilitus, we encompass an entrepreneurial mindset and a collaborative, supportive culture.
