Job Overview

The General Manager oversees the daily operations of a manufacturing facility, ensuring seamless execution and strategic growth. This role is part of a matrix organization structure, with functional reporting to various units.

Administratively, the GM reports to the President of Cryogenic Heat Exchanger Systems Functional Unit, who serves as the chairman of this operation. The position also secondarily reports to the Regional VP of SEA.

This leadership role is responsible for increasing customer and employee satisfaction while improving operational efficiency. A dedicated operational structure will be established to achieve these goals.


Responsibilities

* Oversee all aspects of manufacturing and service activities, including personnel, quality, safety, cost, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, planning, and business controls.
* Plan and organize daily activities related to production and operations.
* Responsible for Profit and Loss (P+L), budget, and achievement of established financials and performance targets.
* Provide site leadership through effective communication, coaching, and accountability.
* Ensure continuous improvement and swift problem resolution in an open, fair, and unselfish manner.
* Manage material requirements to increase inventory turnover and reduce stock levels.
* Implement systems and structures for cost-cutting measures.
* Utilize ERP systems to provide key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for operational management and improvement.
* Determine labor needs to meet production goals and ensure appropriate staffing levels for each functional unit at the facility.
* Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and company policies.
* Identify and secure capital investments needed for growth and improvement projects.
* Manage the engineering function, ensuring compliance with standards and developing standard drawings and specifications.
* Collaborate with local Nikkiso CEIG VP's/GM's and other managers at group manufacturing facilities.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

* 12-month rolling financial P&L metrics relative to budget for bookings, revenue, EBIT, EBIT %, gross margin, G&A, and G&A %.
* 12-month rolling financial balance sheet metrics relative to budget for inventory, working capital, accounts payable, and accounts receivable aging.
* 12-month rolling safety metrics for TRIR, RTIR, LTIR, and DART.
* Facility utilization percentage (in collaboration with Director of Manufacturing, Heat Exchangers Systems).
* Shop floor loading overall and per product line produced.
* Quality and NCR standardization (in collaboration with Director of Quality, Heat Exchangers Systems).
* On-time deliveries for vendors, procurement team, production, and engineering.

*KPIs are subject to change based on business needs.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities for the local facility, including the Engineering Team, Operations Team, EHS, and Quality.

Work Environment

The employee must be able to sit, stand, or work at a computer, or be standing for prolonged periods. The position involves being on the shop floor for extended periods and requires safety equipment to enter production areas.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This position requires lifting up to 25 pounds and working with various materials and/or tools.


Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
* 10 years of management experience, including manufacturing and engineering.
* Experience with pressure vessels, heat exchangers, rotating equipment manufacturing for IG and/or LNG industry preferred.
* Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
* Extensive knowledge of operations and production management.
* Ability to interpret and work with financial data.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Proven leadership experience.
* Orientated to a teamwork mindset and experience working with different personality types.
* Excellent project management experience with a history of results.
* Proficient communication skills, verbally and electronically.
* Experience with performance management.
* Technical capacity with related equipment and manufacturing processes.
