Mathematics Educator Role
The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching Mathematics to students in Years 7-12, promoting a culture of academic excellence and inclusivity.
Key Responsibilities:
* To design and deliver effective lessons that cater to the diverse needs of all students
* To assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
* To foster a positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation
* To communicate effectively with parents and colleagues to ensure seamless student support
Requirements:
1. Demonstrated knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS)
2. Experience in teaching Mathematics to Years 7-12
3. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Selection Criteria:
1. Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills
2. Demonstrated experience in responding to student learning needs
3. Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth
4. Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform teaching practice, and providing feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents
5. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, including establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader school community
6. Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, including reflecting upon practice and engaging in professional learning to continually improve the quality of teaching
7. Demonstrated ability to actively promote the safety and wellbeing of all children in line with the Child Safe Standards
Teaching Role:
The primary focus of the teacher is on the planning, preparation, and delivery of programs to achieve specific student outcomes. The teacher engages in critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and skills, effectively engaging students and improving their learning.
