Applicants should be a Fellow of the Australian/Australasian College of General Practitioners and/or have other specialist qualifications such as Sexual Health, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Emergency Medicine, Forensic Medicine or equivalent, as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award.
Applicants should also have postgraduate qualifications or training in the management of Sexual Assault or a willingness to obtain these qualifications.
The position is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Medical Practitioner to join a dynamic and supportive team responsible for the provision of contemporary and comprehensive specialist services and clinical leadership to ensure optimal outcomes for individuals experiencing sexual assault.
This role will oversee the organisation and delivery of quality medical and forensic services, including recruitment of medical and forensic examiners and facilitation of training, supervision and professional development of the Medical Forensic team.
In undertaking a Staff Specialist role, the successful applicant will also have access to clinical support time to undertake appropriate non-clinical duties and further their professional development and personal goals in this important area of work.
Central Coast is comprised of the twin areas of Gosford and Wyong, positioned between Sydney and Newcastle, which are collectively expected to grow from the current approximate 300,000 to 450,000 population before 2030.
The Local Health District has strong connections with both Royal North Shore Hospital and the University of Newcastle.
This position has obligations to both Gosford Hospital under Sessional arrangements and Wyong Hospital under Fee for Service arrangements.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Staff Specialist (State) Award.
