Please note that this role is site-based and fixed term (approx. 15-18 months), requiring you to be present on our project site.
The Role As the Communications & Stakeholder Engagement Advisor you will contribute your sound knowledge and experience in the development and delivery of communication and stakeholder awareness initiatives within the construction industry; supporting the end-to-end delivery of our Geelong based road project.
This role is fixed term, extending across the project lifespan (approx. 15-18 months).
Responsibilities Contribute to the development of communications strategies that support the project (e.g., Works Notifications, Newsletters).
Support the implementation of communication action plans.
Support the effective operation of the communications team culture activities (e.g., organising meetings, off-sites and team engagement activities).
Update and manage communication records and databases, ensuring information is accurate, trackable, stored correctly, accessible, and compliant with internal records management systems and processes.
Monitor purchase orders, invoices and supplier engagements, reconciliation, and invoice payments.
Assist with developing communication engagement/communications for the project.
Assist with developing community implementation strategies and plans.
Assist with developing culture activities, such as Community Events.
Participate in meetings with the Client through weekly meetings with the Client's Communications Department.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of meetings, including agendas, minutes and follow-up/action points.
Assist with developing CSE Procedures to support the CSE Management Plan (CSEMP), including addressing client responses.
Respond to community concerns.
Develop and maintain key relationships with stakeholders (government, community members, etc.).
Proactively identify potential challenges and areas requiring management support for advocacy.
Support project teams and represent the organization at community events, public forums, and other settings where stakeholders gather, fostering open channels of communication.
Value-add mindset: take initiative to engage in ad-hoc tasks and seek additional work.
Competencies / Qualifications A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, media, or a related discipline, and/or equivalent demonstrated experience within construction is highly desirable.
Strategic marketing, communications, and project management skills.
Proven track record in successful delivery and evaluation of campaigns.
Experience in developing successful marketing and communication strategies is highly desirable.
Proven track record in building and managing relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
